Egyptians of all faiths should work together, close ranks to end sectarian violence and confront terrorists, says the Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper.
The Prime Minister was speaking in Mississauga during a meeting with Coptic Christian leaders. He stated that Canada condemned all hateful ideologies and extremists anywhere in the world.
The Prime Minister condemned the heinous bombing which killed 23 Coptic Christians during a New Year’s Eve mass in Egypt. He called on all to be vigilant as there had been threats against Coptic Churches in Canada and abroad adding that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP would continue to work with communities to protect people.
Prime Minister Harper, accompanied by Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism were conducted on a tour of the Church of Virgin Mary and St. Athanasius by Father Angelos Saad.
